Unemployed with the Unwins

Thurs 3rd Aug – Sat 5th Aug at 6.15pm & Fri 4th – Sat 5th Aug at 10.30pm £5

A fresh-take reality show following the personal and (non-existent) professional lives of millennial cousins: Luke and Poppy Unwin. Competition and disagreement over job-seeking, ambition and successful relationships – deriving from Luke’s moral high-ground and Poppy’s apparent frivolity – underpins fast-paced dialogue. Playing off a reality TV format, the show contains “confessionals” from the characters to the audience and features both political and pop culture references; scenes include links between Corbyn’s Labour Party and mainstream romantic comedies. Written by Rosa Herxheimer, UWTU combines her observations of family dynamics and rivalries alongside the priorities and issues facing young people in the current climate of flux.
