THE SILVER FISH is a dance-theater piece exploring the artistry of Lucia Joyce. Rather than reimagining the biographical void left around Lucia by focusing on her tragic institutionalization and various relationships to “famous men”, particularly to father James Joyce, this piece instead collides choreography, recorded voice, and actor manipulated design elements to conjure her triumphant turn as The Silver Fish, when Lucia performed original work as part of the first international festival of dance in Paris in 1929. The work is co-created by director C.C. Kellogg and performer Cassidy Grady. This one night only preview performance is presented in advance of the work’s world premier with Theatre Royal Bath Elevate— thanks to The Hen & Chickens. Produced by Dan Lewis-Jones for Invulnerable Nothings.
