Today’s workshop will be run by Pablo Melchor, a filmmaker with 10 years of experience in the film industry and who has worked professionally in almost every department, from fiction and documentary, to music videos and corporate content. While this class focuses on short film, the knowledge gained here is applicable across wider genres and is the essential condensed guide for those of us working on a micro-budget.
“”FILM-MAKING on a Shoestring” is an intensive and thorough exploration of independent film-making in the 21st century; a dynamic and stimulating digital era. Bring your notebooks and get ready.
I will cover all aspects of film-making in as much detail as possible within 4 hours. This talk is packed with practical advice, tips and experience-based knowledge, artistic reflections and resources. It is aimed at motivated and driven people who are looking to make quality films on a tight budget. We’ll be focussing on topics such as scriptwriting, gear, and sourcing actors, to name a few.”
Pablo is one of the brains behind wearefilmclub, a monthly meet-up of aspiring and established film professionals in all different working capacities, who want to broaden their experience of different roles in the filmmaking process. The class is open to filmmakers of all levels, so if you want to dip your toes in the pond and get a taste of what the filmmaking journey is like – join us!
