A new monologue from Wonderlust theatre company.
“Tate Modern, East London Food Festival, pub quiz. This isn’t Freshers’ Week. I’m nearly 30 and I work a 55 hour week.”
Young, professional, single, Emma has escaped her small hometown in Yorkshire for the bright lights of London and now she’s living the dream: a cosmopolitan house-share, a forward-thinking office team, speed-dating, parties, Turkish food at 4am, a city of young hopefuls from every corner of the globe.
But through her glossy magazine-copy, a darker picture emerges: of an increasingly alienating city, consumed by corporate culture; its mirage of opportunity forever just beyond the reach of a generation led to expect the world at its feet.

Sophie is Associate Director of the RSC’s 2016 performance of A Midsummers Night’s Dream and runs Wonderlust, a small theatre company with big horizons. She has recently been working as Resident Director on A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
Louisa trained at the Ecole Jacques Le Coq in Paris and was the winner of the Juliet Bernard Memorial Prize for the most promising actress at Oxford University. Louisa recently premiered in “Every You, Every Me” at The Salisbury Playhouse, a new play written by Barney Norris, winner of the 2015 Critics’ Circle Award for the most Promising Playwright.
Tickets booked online must be collected 15mins before showtime. Cash tickets are available for 30 mins at the box office.
