Description:
The Caravan
London premiere
The innate complexity of an estranged familial relationship is thrown into stark relief when an emotionally wounded father and son are forced to address the ghosts of their past in order to be able to look ahead in THE CARAVAN.
When Georgina Langley succumbs to cancer, she leaves behind a will asking warring husband Keith and son James to restore the family caravan that has fallen into a state of disrepair on a bleak Welsh coast caravan park. For two men who can’t stand to be in the same room together, it’s going to be a tough job and when a new woman comes into Keith’s life James reacts badly, leading to a showdown that unearths a long buried secret.
Starring Shirley Henderson (Filth, Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire), Karen Hassan (TV’s The Fall, Hunger) and featuring breakout central performances from Mark Sheals and Darren Connolly, THE CARAVAN is British cinema at its most personal. Harking back to a style of kitchen sink filmmaking not seen in recent years and with its relatable central premise, THE CARAVAN is at once a brutally honest examination of the damage stoic men can do to each other and a life-affirming drama about the redemptive power of love.
After the screening we are delighted to announce a Q and A with Darren Connolly and Mark Sheals.
