4pm – I Live

Directed by Rok Matić (Slovenia, 77 mins)

The film presents the life of Martina Piskač from her early childhood, teenage years, youth and motherhood to her mature age when she became a ______. Martina has spinal muscular atrophy. Despite numerous negative prognoses, she managed to shape for herself an active lifestyle and achieve equality according to her desires and ambitions. Her difficult and progressing physical disability put her into an electric wheelchair, but personal assistance now allows her to live independently. She can’t even lift her arm, but she lives to the fullest, in the real sense of the word. The film l live breaks down the prejudice that life is unexceptional and bare, less creative and less playful and proves that will, reason and yearning have no limit. Especially due to her disability, Martina knows very well how precious life is, as she stared death in the face many times and has so far always beaten it. She looks at her life with a touch of irony and self-irony, which is often the way to make it through the most difficult moments.

6pm – Who is James Payton?

Directed by Oliver Guy-Watkins (UK, 78 mins)

From playing Frank Longbottom in Harry Potter to Adolf Hitler in Captain America, as well as standing in for Anthony Hopkins and Jude Law; James Payton has been part of the British Film Industry for the best part of 20 years. Yet he is still largely unknown.

Director Oliver Guy-Watkins followed James for a year as he attended Comic Cons, taught wizardry skills to children and was cast as Tony Blair in the Nick Moran helmed film Creation Stories.

This is a story of fandom, loneliness and perseverance, that plays with the boundaries of reality and fiction, but do we find out Who Is James Payton?

8pm – Abatement

Directed by Gary Rogers (UK, 95 mins)

A group of youths witness a shooting in the woods while doing some environmental work for their dissertations and through a series of decisions that follow suspicions start to develop between them. Is there more going on than first meets the eye?
A story that gets you wondering who may be more involved with the situation than originally thought, and just when you think you have worked it out the twist in the end will have you on the edge of your seat!
