When the pandemic killed off live comedy, Irish comedian Derek Ryan refused to even entertain the idea of online gigs. So he hung up his comedy hat, got a proper job & left the world of stand up behind forever. But try as he might to quit…

Comedy still had a hook in his heart.  And, worse, he was starting to forget his own jokes.  In a panic, he started to scribble down his favourite bits from 4 Edinburgh shows and 15 years on the circuit, before he forgot he was ever a standup in the first place. Equal parts smart as silly, profane as profound, “Hooked” is a love-letter to an old flame, rewritten for a post pandemic world. A hand-picked hour of material from an ex-comedian that can’t seem to kick the habit.
