COMEDY DOUBLE BILL – WASP IN A CARDIGAN & WHO HERE’S LOST? – JOANNA NEARY & BEN MOOR

Two offbeat solo comedy shows.

WASP IN A CARDIGAN – JOANNA NEARY

One-time Riot Grrl Joanna (Man Down, Ideal, Wife On Earth) and her volatile alter egos explore life and love. Punchlines include ‘fry up’, ‘arsehole’ and ‘Xmal Deutschland’.

This startlingly-original cavalcade of characters accompany Joanna, all buzzing to share their maverick stories while bickering and drinking wine out of a teapot for your entertainment.

A couple of the freer and more energetic versions of Joanna will be expressing themselves in dance form. Some are more content than others. All of them are nervous around rolled up magazines and jars with a suspiciously generous amount of jam left around the rim.

JOANNA NEARY produces hilarious, highly original character comedy shows in the vein of Vic Reeves and Victoria Wood. Her recent work includes Inbox – The Art of Now, and Before The Room Next Door, with Michael Spicer, both for Radio 4; and TV and Film credits include Darkest Hour, Miranda, Ideal and Man Down.

WHO HERE’S LOST? – BEN MOOR

What do we make with our lives?

An artist worries his work has lost its way. An architect wants to see her buildings a final time. A changing landscape searches for itself.

Who Here’s Lost? is a story about what we value as we go along, and how we present it to others.

Who Here’s Lost? is a story about what we value as we go along, and how we present it to others; it’s a mind-expanding, heart-warming roadtrip of the soul which takes turns that are funny, cryptic, beautiful, and wise.

BEN MOOR has been producing offbeat solo comedy shows for nearly three decades, winning a Herald Angel Award for his show Coelacanth. Who Here’s Lost? was shortlisted for Best Spoken Word Performance at the 2021 Greater Manchester Fringe Festival. As an actor, he has appeared in The Queen’s Gambit, A Very English Scandal, and The IT Crowd. He created the series Undone and Elastic Planet for BBC Radio, and is the author of the book More Trees to Climb.

Stewart Lee:

Ben Moor, for my money, is the Ken Campbell/Spalding Gray of my generation, a natural storyteller who blurs the boundaries between comedy, theatre and performance art.
